About Davenport Housing Commision

Established by the City Code, the Housing Commission oversees the administration of several programs of the City which provide housing assistance to lower-income persons. City-owned facilities include the Heritage House, located downtown and providing 120 units of housing for the elderly and handicapped, and Scattered Sites Public Housing, providing housing to 42 households in locations throughout the community. In addition, the Section 8 program provides housing assistance funding for more than 500 eligible renter households residing in privately owned units. Commission members oversee the administration of these properties and programs and consider appeals of administrative actions raised by tenants.
